The team is the perfect example of what can happen when people get together with a common goal.  Together we can do more than we can alone.  When we join with God and with each we can be taken to a higher level of life.  Today’s most popular movie is X-men III.  The X-men are super humans who all have a special power or gift.  Together they fight the forces of evil.  They have the power.  They join together to make a super powerful team of X-men. 

            Everyone dreams of doing more.  How can we do more in the real world?  Can we have special power?  Is it possible?  Can we be empowered?  Let’s read of some real super people in Acts 2. 

Acts 2:1 (NIV) When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.

2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages; as the Spirit enabled them. … 17 "`In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.  …   21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'

The purpose of this message is to show how we can do more together with the Lord than we can alone.  The TEAM is the perfect example.  TEAM up with God and with one another. 

TEAM

T:  Together   Together is the joining of different parties until they become one.  Get together with one another and with the Lord.  Friends, families, Schools, companies, associations, Ball teams, towns, counties, states, countries, and churches are all examples of people getting together.  God invites you to join with Him and with each other.  Will you call on Him and join with Him and with each other? 

E: Empowered  To be empowered is to be able to do more than you can do.  God is the creator and He designed people to get together.  Unless people get together they will die.  But, when we get together we are able to live.  We are able to thrive and multiply.  We are able to grow and do things that we can’t do alone.  Husbands and Wives can become Dads and Moms.  The people in Pentecost could speak in different languages, the sons and daughters prophesied, the young men saw visions, and the old men dreamed dreams.  They received the Lord and together with each other and the Lord they were able to do miraculous things. 

A: All  Everyone can be on the team.  All have been invited to be on God’s team.  He is the captain and the coach.  He is the Lord and the Savior.  God has picked you to be on his team.  John 3:16  For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son… 

M: Make Good  V.21 says that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  Everyone who teams up with God will Make Good in this life and in the life to come.  Everyone who is on God’s team is a winner.  Will you call on the name of the Lord?  Will you join together with one another?  Will you join together with the Lord?
